Roche eyes points improvement

Morecambe goalkeeper Barry Roche is relishing his club's final home game of the season against Torquay.

Jim Bentley's men lie comfortably in lower mid-table on 55 points with two games of the League Two campaign remaining, one shy of last term's final tally. By contrast, the Gulls are battling for their Football League status and Roche hopes the intensity of the occasion can bring the best out of his team-mates as they look to better last year's efforts. "In one way it's a very good game to play in because there's something at stake," he said. "Okay there's nothing at stake for us, in the grand scheme of things, but there's a hell of a lot at stake for Torquay so it's going to be a tense game. "I imagine that will help the atmosphere so we're looking forward to it. "We want to finish on as many points as possible. We're desperate to get past that 56 point mark."
