Morecambe boss Jim Bentley bemoaned his side's inability to defend set-plays after they slipped to a 3-0 loss at Northampton.
Adebayo Akinfenwa's 13th goal of the campaign put the hosts on their way before an own goal from Kevin Ellison and an excellent stoppage-time free-kick from Ishmel Demontagnac secured the victory.
The Shrimps have now won just two of their last eight games, and Bentley was left frustrated by their latest defeat.
He said: "We knew exactly what to expect from Northampton but sometimes you can't do anything about it. We couldn't defend against their set-pieces.
"We tried to play football but Northampton are very good at what they do and two long throw-ins have caused havoc after we had dealt with them so well earlier in the game.
"We worked hard in training on what Northampton do but sometimes you have to take your hat off and admit they do it well."
