Defender Nick Fenton is hoping for a change in Morecambe's fortunes when they host Burton on New Year's Eve.
A superb strike from Accrington midfielder Bryan Hughes condemned the Shrimps to a fourth loss in five League Two games and left Jim Bentley's early-season pacesetters languishing in mid-table.
"It is strange at the moment because I think we're playing better now than we were at the start of the season when we were top of the league," Fenton told Morecambe's official website.
"We haven't won a game for a couple of months now and we all know that isn't good enough. The manager deserves much better because the preparation is excellent but nothing seems to be going right for us at the minute.
"I'm sure that things will improve, but until it does we have to make sure we stick together."
The former Rotherham man added: "I thought we deserved to win the game against Accrington, but we didn't and we have to move on quickly and make sure we start picking up some results, hopefully starting this weekend against Burton."
