Shrimps' slump bothers Bentley

Image: Bentley: Says team must learn from mistakes

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley was "distraught" after his side dropped a three goal lead to eventually draw 3-3 at home to Rotherham.

The Shrimps raced into a 3-0 lead after just 37 minutes of Tuesday night's League Two clash thanks to a third-minute opener from Gary McDonald and two Laurence Wilson penalties. But Rotherham hit back to claim an unlikely point thanks to Lewis Grabban's spot-kick and strikes from Gareth Evans and Alex Revell, before then coming closest to taking victory on a thrilling night at the Globe Arena. Bentley said: "It was one of those games where you cannot really describe what has happened. We were brilliant in the first half and to get 3-0 up against a side as good as Rotherham was a dream start. "It's so hard to take but I have to take the positives from the performance. We have to look at the first half and take that as a marker and cut out the silly mistakes that we made in the second period. "I am distraught and I think I will struggle to sleep because I'll be thinking about every kick of the game and how I can use the experience to make us stronger as a team and make me stronger as a manager."
