Youngster on brink of permanent deal at Don Valley Stadium

Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore is looking to complete the signing of Marcus Marshall this week. The 20-year-old arrived at the Don Valley Stadium on loan from Blackburn in January and, after becoming a free agent, looks set to join the Millers on a permanent basis. Moore, who is looking to rebuild his squad after they narrowly missed out on promotion to League One, is expecting the deal to be wrapped up by Thursday. "Marshall will be done by Thursday this week, he'll be staying here permanently," said Moore. The Millers are also reportedly seeking the signatures of two others players, thought to be a defender and a midfielder, but Moore is reluctant to reveal the identity of his targets. "If anybody listens to this and jumps in then they'll say, 'why's he been on the radio telling everybody what he's doing?'. When it's done everybody will know." Meanwhile, Rotherham have added a friendly against Alfreton to their pre-season schedule, which will take place three days after their home friendly against Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United.
