Midfielder looking forward after leaving Chester

Kevin Ellison is waiting for offers from other clubs after agreeing to have his Chester City contract cancelled. Following the Blues' relegation from the Football League, the club can no longer afford to keep Ellison or the likes of Ryan Lowe. Ellison has accepted a deal to leave Chester and the 30-year-old is now weighing up his options ahead of next season. "The first I knew that I was leaving Chester was when the gaffer pulled me into his office and told me he couldn't afford to keep me," Ellison told the Chester Chronicle. "But I'm now happy to sort out what the club owes me and move on. I'm still contracted to Chester and I haven't received any offers from other clubs. "Players like Ryan Lowe and myself are now getting on, but we both want to play football as much as we can for as long as we can. "I have a young family and a mortgage to think about, and I've got to seriously consider my future." During the January transfer window, the midfielder was the subject of a failed £15,000 bid from Chesterfield, while Bradford City and Darlington also showed an interest.
