Grimsby have completed the signing of West Ham defender Joe Widdowson on an initial one-month loan deal.
The 19-year-old is highly rated at Upton Park and was a part of the first-team squad on their pre-season tour of the United States and Canada.
Widdowson, who spent a similar spell on loan with Rotherham last season, is seen as the ideal replacement for the injured Tom Newey.
Mariners manager Mike Newell will put Widdowson straight into his squad for the clash with Barnet on Saturday.
