Burnett still wants more

Dagenham boss Wayne Burnett is thrilled to have eight new recruits on board at this stage of the summer, and he's not finished yet.

The club have trialists with them as they head out to Spain as part of their pre-season plans. Burnett said: "We've still got four-and-a-half weeks until the start of the season, so we will be having a real good look at one or two (of the trialists) that have been on display in the last couple of games." One of the recent additions to the squad is former Torquay midfielder Joss Labadie and Burnett feels he has the qualities to take the Daggers to the next level, ahead of their Sky Bet League Two campaign. "Joss has played against us on numerous occasions and is very competitive as well as a very good footballer. "I think he will give us strength and size and some experience even though he is still relatively young. He had two or three other clubs that were interested in him, but he wanted to come here." With so many new additions, Burnett is not worried it could affect his team going forward. He said: "You do think about that, it is a lot of players to bring in. But we've had players that have left, so we had to rebuild and it is a process that we need to go through. "We've got a good four-and-a-half weeks to get together and really try and shape this group. They're still young despite the experience we've brought in, it's exciting."
