Burnett: I'm responsible

Dagenham manager Wayne Burnett took full responsibility for his side's 4-1 home defeat to Portsmouth.

Daggers captain Abu Ogogo grabbed a consolation against the run of play for the hosts in the 34th minute, heading over Trevor Carson after Medy Elito's initial shot was superbly saved by the goalkeeper. But that was as good as it got for the hapless Daggers. "They were better than us in every department Portsmouth were better than us and they thoroughly deserved to win, and I will be held fully responsible because I picked the wrong team as well but they were better than us," he said. "When you give teams goal starts, it's very very difficult to come back from. That's what we did, and I've got no complaints. I can't emphasise enough how much better than us they were in every department, so I've got no complaints. "Do I feel that my players think it's the end of the season? I don't actually think they do, no, I just think they were better than us."
