Daggers wait on Samuel news

Dagenham loanee Dominic Samuel has returned to Reading to discover the extent of a knee injury sustained in the 1-0 loss to Fleetwood.

The 19-year-old only joined Daggers on month's loan last Thursday but he left the field on a stretcher just 40 minutes into his debut at Victoria Road. Samuel will have a scan on the injury once the swelling has gone down. Daggers boss Wayne Burnett admits the loss of Samuel would be a blow, and may force him to re-enter the loan market. "He's gone back to Reading, but they can't assess the injury until the swelling has gone down," Burnett told the Ilford Recorder. "It is a shame because he has got a lot of potential and did okay on Saturday up until he got the injury. "I have already made one or two enquiries elsewhere if he can't return, but we'll wait to find out what Reading can diagnose and then we'll go from there."
