Dagenham have completed the signing of former West Ham forward Zavon Hines on a one-year contract.

The 24-year-old links up with the League Two club having twice featured during pre-season friendlies over the summer, before also going on trial elsewhere and seemingly ending any hopes of a move to Victoria Road. But after finally landing his transfer target, manager Wayne Burnett told the club's official website: "I am delighted that we have managed to bring Zavon Hines to the football club. "After miscommunications and lengthy discussions with Zavon, I am convinced that he wants to be a part of this Dagenham and Redbridge. "He is an exciting talent with unquestionable ability and has a hunger to succeed and I feel we are getting him at a really good stage in his career." Hines started his career with West Ham and went on to make a total of 31 appearances, the majority of which in the Premier League, before moving to Burnley in 2011 and enjoying a single season at Turf Moor. He spent last term with Bradford, enjoying 41 outings as the Bantams clinched promotion from League Two and reached the Capital One Cup final at Wembley. Hines, released by the West Yorkshire club this summer, is available to make his Daggers debut in Saturday's home clash against Newport.
