Notts County have signed former Tranmere midfielder Joss Labadie on a free transfer ahead of the new campaign.

Labadie has put pen to paper on a one-year contract with the option of an extra 12 months. The 21-year-old, who joined Tranmere in May 2010 after a successful loan spell, was released by the Merseyside club at the end of last season. He said: "I'm really happy now that I've been able to sign. I was offered several other deals but once this opportunity arose I wanted to get this started and sign here." Labadie began his career as a trainee at West Brom and also had loan spells at Shrewsbury and Cheltenham.
