Morecambe manager Jim Bentley branded his side's performance in the 2-1 home defeat to Dagenham as their "worst of the season".
Goals from Medy Elito and Josh Scott won the match for the Daggers on Tuesday night, while the hosts could only manage a Kevin Ellison effort to leave Bentley fuming.
"That was by far our worst performance of the season and totally unacceptable by any standards," he said.
"We have been on a good run of late but you would not have thought so on that performance. Every single player let themselves down and we have told them that.
"They looked like strangers at times and I am at a loss to explain it. We had no leaders on the field and we lacked heart and we allowed Dagenham to do to us what we did to Southend on Saturday and dictate the game.
"I have backed the lads all year long and always said that we deserved to get something from every game but I can't say that this time and I'm bitterly disappointed."
