Scott injury blow for Daggers

Dagenham striker Josh Scott faces about six weeks on the sidelines after x-rays revealed he needs knee cartilage surgery.

Scott missed the second half of last term with a blood clot on his lung but made his return in pre-season only for his progress to be halted. Hip and knee problems have prevented the 26-year-old from appearing for the Daggers so far this term and the latter of those has proved to be more serious than first anticipated. Manager John Still told the club's official website: "He picked up an injury in training to his hip and his knee and the knee problem has turned out to be cartilage. "Josh was looking good as well but obviously now we'll have to wait until he has his operation and it'll probably be six weeks."
