Stimson - No striker swap deal

Gillingham boss Mark Stimson will not swap Simeon Jackson for Charlton striker Chris Dickson.

Gills won't trade Jackson for Dickson

Gillingham boss Mark Stimson insists he will not agree to a swap deal which would see Simeon Jackson join Charlton and Chris Dickson head in the opposite direction. Stimson is a long-term admirer of Charlton striker Dickson and made an offer earlier in the summer to bring the former loan star back to Priestfield Stadium. The Addicks appear willing to let Dickson go, but want Gillingham's top scorer Jackson, who bagged a hat-trick against Swindon on Saturday, in exchange. Charlton manager Phil Parkinson confirmed his interest in a deal and is waiting for a firm response to his offer. "They haven't come back to us yet," said Parkinson. "They want our goalscorer and we want their one, so we will wait for a response." However, Stimson has revealed he has no plans to part with Jackson in order to secure a deal for Dickson. Stimson told Kent Online: "A straight swap for those two is never going to happen because we would like to pair the two up together."
