Stevenage playmaker Robin Shroot insists that he has no intention of leaving on loan, despite a lack of recent first-team action.

The 24-year-old has not featured since Boxing Day and has made just six league starts this season for the League One side.

However, after netting seven times, with an average of one goal every 88 minutes in all competitions, the winger's situation is attracting the attention of several Championship and League One clubs with the loan window set to open on Thursday.

The former Birmingham youngster told Sky Sports that his sole ambition this year is to help Stevenage recapture the early season form which saw them compete for a second successive play-off berth.

"I always believe that I can help the team out whether it is a small cameo appearance from the bench or a starting role," said Shroot.

"Obviously, results aren't going our way at the minute and if I can help in any way then I'll make sure I'm ready to do the business when given the nod.

"I've not really heard anything in terms of interest outside Stevenage because I am focused on getting back into the side here and helping turn our season round.

"Stevenage gave me a chance after I was released by Birmingham, so I want to do all I can for the club and its great supporters as we look to get into the Championship."
