Striker moves to Hillsborough on six-month loan

QPR have confirmed that Jay Bothroyd has completed a six-month loan move to Sheffield Wednesday. The 30-year-old only moved to Loftus Road last summer on a free transfer from Cardiff City, making 24 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals. However, the striker has seen himself fall down the pecking order in recent months following a flurry of new signings at the London club. Hoops boss Mark Hughes is keen to trim his squad before the deadline, with Bothroyd the latest player to move through the busy Loftus Road exit door. A statement on the QPR's official website read: "Jay Bothroyd has joined Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on loan until January 2nd 2013. "The 30 year-old striker will team up once again with former Cardiff City manager Dave Jones, who is now at the helm at Hillsborough. "
