Transfer news: Second bid from Arsenal for Krystian Bielik is rejected by Legia Warsaw

Arsenal have had a bid rejected by Legia Warsaw for 17-year-old Krystian Bielik.

The midfielder is highly rated by manager Arsene Wenger and the north Londoners had an opening £1.6million offer rejected.

Arsenal have kept up their interest in the player but the Polish club looking to protect one of their most valuable assets.

Sky sources understand that talks are still ongoing between the clubs with Legia Warsaw holding out for a bid of £2.3m from Arsenal. 

Legia Warsaw purchased Bielik from Lech Poznan for £9,500 last July, tying him down to a contract until 2017.

The youngster has already broken into the first team after impressing in the youth set-up, making six appearances for the club, including a brief cameo in Warsaw’s 2-0 win over Trabzonspor in the Europa League.

Wenger has a history of successfully negotiating deals with Legia Warsaw having signed a 16-year-old Wojciech Szczesny from the Polish club in 2006.
