Reading boss Nigel Adkins insists the club are still active in the transfer market and that talks are ongoing with potential targets.
The Royals added midfielder Oliver Norwood to their squad on Thursday, taking the number of new faces at the club to four following the arrivals of Simon Cox, Jamie Mackie and Anton Ferdinand.
"We had a long period without positive activity on the transfer front, then we've have managed to bring four players in," Adkins told the official club website.
"I'd like to think we'll still be active, in fact I know we are being active, but you've still got to get them over the line.
"Conversations are being had, we're looking to keep improving the group which is important."
