Chris Powell expects there to be comings and goings at Charlton Athletic before the close of the emergency loan window.

Clubs have until next Thursday to wrap up any short-term deals, with transfer activity then set to die down until January.

Charlton are planning on dipping into the market while they still can, with the busy festive period set to push their squad to the limit.

Powell finds himself short on attacking options with Yann Kermorgant struggling with an ankle complaint, while defenders Richard Wood, Michael Morrison and Leon Cort have all been nursing knocks.

Cover will need to be found for the problem positions and there is a possibility that those on the fringes of the first team fold will be allowed to go in search of regular game time elsewhere.

Powell said in the South London Press: "I do think that something will happen - both ways.

"I'm going to have to make sure the squad is covered to see us through a busy Christmas."
