Aidy Boothroyd is happy with the strength of his Northampton Town squad and will not be dipping into the loan market.

The Cobblers have endured a tough start to the 2013/14 campaign, with four points from eight games leaving them second from bottom in League Two.

Boothroyd was expected to have his side challenging at the opposite end of the table, having guided them to the play-off final last term.

He is convinced that those already at his disposal can bring about a reversal in fortune and has no intention of bringing players in as a short-term fix.

Boothroyd said in the Northampton Chronicle: "It's not about bringing any other players in, I'm happy with the players that we've got.

"We're creating a lot of chances so I don't think we need to bring anyone else in.

"We are conceding sloppy goals and we're not taking the chances that the team is creating and putting on a plate.

"Confidence is a word that is thrown around a lot but we've got to make sure we keep getting in the position to miss these chances.

"Because if we do that then sooner or later, the goals will come."
