Gaston Ramirez has expressed a desire to stay at Southampton despite interest from Italian club Fiorentina.
The Uruguay international enjoyed an impressive first season in the Premier League, scoring five goals, and is pleased to have become an important player for the Saints.
"There is a lot of talk about the transfer market but I think I'll stay at Southampton," Ramirez told tuttomercatoweb.com.
"I want to repay the trust of the club. I'm happy in England and I have always dreamed of playing in the Premier League.
"There has been talk in the past of interest from Fiorentina and they are a club that I like. But Southampton count on me a lot."
Saints have been linked with a move for another Uruguayan, with Nacional winger Gonzalo Bueno reportedly attracting interest, and Ramirez believes his compatriot would be a good signing.
"I know him well," added Ramirez. "He has great quality and he would give us a helping hand if he came to Southampton."
