Sky Sports sources understand Alexander Doni has been released by Liverpool with immediate effect.
The experienced goalkeeper joined the Reds from Roma in a lucrative free transfer after spending six years with the Serie A club.
But he was unable to force his way ahead of Pepe Reina at Anfield, making just four Premier League appearances for Liverpool.
