Tranmere's sought-after goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams insists his focus is locked on guiding the club into the Championship, rather than a January exit.

The 25-year-old, who is close to earning his first cap for Wales after several call-ups last year, is regarded as one of the best keepers outside the top two divisions of English football.

His performances have helped Rovers set the pace at the top of League One this season and his efforts have not gone unnoticed, with a host of Championship clubs weighing up an approach during the winter transfer window.

However, Fon Williams claims that he has no intention of leaving Tranmere with the club so close to achieving automatic promotion.

"It is always nice to hear that clubs are showing interest in what you are doing, but I try not to get too distracted with what happens outside of Tranmere," he told Sky Sports.

"I'm hoping to do everything I can to get this club into the Championship for next year and whatever happens outside of that will happen without me thinking about it.

"I'm delighted to be here and I can't speak highly enough of the staff and players at the club, especially my goalkeeping coach Dave Timmins and I'm thoroughly enjoying the chance to work with him on a daily basis."
