Eugen Polanski is confident Hoffenheim can avoid relegation from the Bundesliga after completing his move from Mainz.
The Poland international has joined Hoffenheim on a contract until 2015 and he made his debut in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt.
That result left Hoffenheim second bottom in the table, but Polanski is determined to help his new club climb to safety.
"We have at Hoffenheim a very tough task ahead of us and we are fully aware of that," said the midfielder.
"I am convinced we can stay up and am just happy to be here and help out."
Polanski was Hoffenheim's third signing of the week after David Abraham arrived from Getafe and Afriyie Acquah signed from Palermo.
