York have snapped up versatile winger Alex Rodman from League Two rivals Aldershot on a two-month loan deal.

The 25-year-old is reunited with former manager Gary Mills, who was previously in charge at Tamworth where Rodman made 91 appearances before being signed by Shots boss Dean Holdsworth in January 2011. Holdsworth said: "Alex remains firmly in the plans for the future. He knows my feelings. He needs to get regular game time, which will help him return to the form that we know that he is capable of." Rodman was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism in January and missed the remainder of last season. He has gone on to make nine starts and four substitute appearances so far this term, scoring once.
