Sky Sports understands Charlton Athletic are looking to bring back striker Leon Clarke from his loan spell at Scunthorpe United.

Clarke joined Scunthorpe on a three-month loan in early September and he has been in prolific form for the League One strugglers.

The 27-year-old has scored six goals in eight appearances for the Iron and his performances have attracted interest from several clubs.

It is understood that Charlton are keen to bring Clarke back to The Valley as there are teams interested in a permanent deal, with Scunthorpe unable to afford the transfer.

Clarke originally joined Charlton in January from Swindon Town and spent a spell on loan at Crawley Town towards the end of last season.
