Evans takes aim at Shrimpers

Rotherham boss Steve Evans has revealed League Two rivals Southend made an enquiry for midfielder Jason Taylor last week.

Taylor, who has featured 11 times for the Millers this campaign, attracted the interest of Paul Sturrock ahead of his side's visit to New York last Saturday, in which the Shrimpers were 3-0 victors. Evans rejected the enquiry straight away and put it down to gamesmanship. "We were due to play Southend, we have all played that game and phoned up for a player a few days before we play them to try and put a bomb in their camp," he said. "They must think I'm Donald Duck. "After the way he played, I don't think they'd want him anyway would they?"
