Gills duo shipped out on loan

Gillingham pair Jack Evans and Alex Brown have signed one-month loan deals with Blue Square Bet North club Corby Town.

Predominantly a right-back, Evans is a versatile performer who made his first-team debut as a late second half substitute in a 5-2 victory at Torquay in October 2011. The 19-year-old then spent a couple of months on loan at Blue Square Bet South outfit Welling United before returning to Priestfield and adding six appearances to his tally. He is a graduate of the Gills Centre of Excellence and was handed a professional deal for the 2011/12 campaign. Brown, who turned 20 on Saturday, found himself on the fringe of first-team activities throughout last season, before making his Gills debut as an 84th minute substitute in a 2-0 home win against Morecambe on the final day.
