Papa Bouba Diop is training with Birmingham City, in the hope of landing a deal with the Championship side.
If the 34-year-old defensive midfielder is taken on it will be his fourth English club, following spells at West Ham, Portsmouth and Fulham.
Diop, nicknamed 'The Wardrobe' by Fulham fans because of his huge frame, was a team-mate of Birmingham boss Lee Clark at Craven Cottage and won the FA Cup with Portsmouth in 2008 after coming on as a substitute in the final, where he helped his side beat Cardiff 1-0.
The Senegal international joined West Ham on a free transfer from AEK Athens in August 2011, but was released in the summer after making 14 appearances for the Hammers.
A Blues spokesman confirmed to Sky Sports that Diop was on trial at St Andrews.
If the club decide to take him on, he could add some much needed bite to a side that was humiliated 5-0 at home by Barnsley last weekend.
