Preston lend Hume to Rovers

Preston North End striker Iain Hume has joined League One rivals Doncaster Rovers on loan until January.

The 28-year-old was top scorer for North End last season with 10 goals and the Canada international netted 21 times in 59 appearances since moving from Barnsley in 2010. Boss Graham Westley informed Hume over the summer that he was free to leave Deepdale as he did not feature in his plans for the new season. The striker will go straight into Doncaster's squad for the trip to Yeovil on Saturday. As part of the loan deal, Hume will not be eligible for selection when Rovers play North End in October.
