Sky Sports understands Real Mallorca have finally agreed a deal with Birmingham for Nikola Zigic.
The 31-year-old's return to La Liga had stalled as the two clubs tried to reach an agreement over terms.
Zigic still has two years to run on his contract at St Andrews and Mallorca were keen for the Blues to subsidise the Serbia international's wages to push the deal through.
However, a compromise has now been reached allowing Zigic to undergo a medical ahead of his proposed switch to Spain.
Zigic has netted 22 goals in 79 appearances for Birmingham, memorably scoring the opener in their 2011 League Cup triumph over Arsenal.
The former Valencia striker will become the seventh new arrival at the club this summer if the deal is successfully completed.
