Newcastle boss Alan Pardew hopes all his best players will still be at the club when the transfer window closes.
The likes of Fabricio Coloccini, Cheick Tiote and Yohan Cabaye have all been linked with moves away from Newcastle before Fridays' transfer deadline.
Pardew is keen to keep hold of his top stars having lost Andy Carroll to Liverpool on deadline day 18 months ago.
"I lost Andy Carroll on the last day of the January window so no, I can never rest easy, but I want to keep the great players we have got," admitted Pardew.
"We have worked very, very hard to bring them to the football club, not just on the scouting side but selling the club to players.
"Players like Anita, coming from Ajax, a team in the Champions League, to Newcastle, this isn't an easy thing to do.
"We want to keep our best players, and we are trying very hard to make sure we do that."
