Antonio signs for Wednesday

Michail Antonio has joined Sheffield Wednesday from Reading after a successful season on loan at Hillsborough. The winger moves to the newly promoted Championship club for an undisclosed fee on a four-year contract. He made 14 appearances for his adopted club during his loan spell, and became a fans' favourite after scoring five goals in the push for promotion at the end of last season. And the 22-year-old Londoner is delighted to have made the move permanent. He told the Owls' official website: "I've been waiting patiently for this move all summer and I'm so pleased it has gone through. "Everything comes to those who wait! "Winning promotion with Sheffield Wednesday last season was something I will never forget.

Massive

"Wednesday fans have been encouraging me all summer to sign and they have played a massive part in this move. "I would like to say thank you to all of them and now I can focus on next season and helping Wednesday succeed in the Championship." Antonio also had loan spells with Cheltenham, Southampton and Colchester as he failed to hold down a first-team place at the Royals.
