Defender Alessio Bugno has bagged himself a two-year deal with Carlisle United after impressing the club during a three-week trial.
Lombardy-born defender Bugno, 22, has delivered some determined displays in the Cumbrians' pre-season fixtures.
Manager Greg Abbott told the club's official website: "We said before we came back in July that you hope to see something a little bit different with the trial players who come into the club and Alessio has shown us over the last three weeks that he fits into that bracket.
"He has worked hard from day one and the way he has come through has been a huge bonus. We think we have got a player that we can work with over the next two years. He gives us something a little bit extra."
Bugno played for Renate, Albion Leffe, Pro Seste and Monza before pitching up at Carlisle.
