Doncaster signing Rob Jones is excited about the season ahead and feels the time was right to leave his boyhood club Sheffield Wednesday.
The 32-year-old defender captained the Owls to promotion from League One last season but lost his place in the first team as the season neared its conclusion.
Jones has made the short journey to Doncaster to join Rovers and the former Hibernian defender believes it is the right move for his career.
He told the club's official website: "On reflection it was a fantastic season for me and for the club, but sometimes you get opportunities to progress and move on in the way that you want to.
"This was an option that excited me, and it gave me a chance to come here, to a great stadium, good fanbase and a good club - sometimes it's time to move on."
