Sky Sports understands Burnley have agreed a deal to sign Reading defender Joseph Mills.
Mills held talks with Burnley officials on Tuesday after they agreed a fee with the Royals for his signature.
The 22-year-old is believed to have agreed terms to join Eddie Howe's side on loan.
Mills, who moved to Reading from Southampton last summer, found himself down the pecking order at the Madejski Stadium and the recent signing of Nicky Shorey increased competition for places at left-back.
Howe has been keen to add to his left-back options and he has moved quickly to secure a move for Mills.
Mills will become Burnley's fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Jason Shackell, Luke O'Neill and George Porter.
