Former Madrid stopper among new recruits

Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Antonio Reguero is one of three players to join SPL side Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Former Crewe youngster Jason Oswell and ex-Liverpool reserve captain David Raven complete a busy and productive day for Caley, with pre-season training set to start on Friday. "They've all agreed to sign and the trio will be challenging for a first-team place from day one," said manager Terry Butcher. Reguero came through the youth set-up at the Bernabeu before moving to Villarreal in 2003. Spells in the Spanish lower leagues followed with Orihuela, Alicante and Gandia before his move to the Scottish Highlands. "He wants to play in Scotland and he came up and played a trial at the end of last season and we liked him and he liked Inverness," added Butcher.

Potential

"Jason's a finisher whose best is yet to come and we're excited about his potential. "David's got a solid footballing background and though primarily a right-back he gives us the option of playing him anywhere in the back four." After losing nine first-team players from last season's squad Butcher expressed his relief that new recruits had begun to arrive. He also hinted that further transfer deals could be concluded sooner rather than later. "Their arrival is a timely boost and we are in advanced negotiations with a view to adding another couple of recruits next week," he said.
