Accrington have struck a deal to sign former Liverpool midfielder Lewis Hatch, who impressed manager Paul Cook with his displays last term.
The 18-year-old has agreed a one-year contract at the Crown Ground after being released by the Barclays Premier League club. "I've watched Lewis in person on numerous occasions playing for Liverpool's youth team," said Stanley boss Cook. "He's had a lot of bad luck with injuries, which I'm putting down to the fact that the boy is still growing and developing. "He's got a lot of good qualities. He's got a good physical frame, he's going to mature and grow, he can handle a ball well and he's got good athleticism and a great desire to win. "I think that stands out in young lads - the fact that they don't like to be beaten." Hatch was a regular for Liverpool's Under-18s last season and was also involved at reserve-team level. The Liverpudlian is Stanley's fourth summer signing after the acquisitions of Toto Nsiala, George Miller and Bohan Dixon.
