Former Arsenal ace leaves San Siro

AC Milan have confirmed that they have ended negotiations with Mathieu Flamini and he has now left the club. The former Arsenal midfielder was out-of-contract this summer, but he was in talks over a new two-year deal despite not being heavily involved under coach Massimiliano Allegri. He was limited to must two appearances last term, although he missed the first part of the campaign through injury. But now Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has confirmed that they have ended talks with Flamini and they could return for Liverpool's Alberto Aquilani - who spent last season on loan at the San Siro. "The deadline has passed and we told his lawyer we won't be waiting any more. We'll bring in a new midfielder by August 31," Galliani told Sky Sport Italia. "It could be Alberto Aquilani or someone else, as he is a Liverpool player and we're not in talks with them." Flamini joined Milan in 2008 after leaving Arsenal on a free transfer.
