United target urged to stay

Universidad coach unsure whether Henriquez will be on his way

Universidad de Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli admits it would be 'painful' if reported Manchester United target Angelo Henriquez left the club at this stage of his career. Speculation has claimed that Premier League side United are close to finalising a £3million deal to add the 18-year-old striker to their squad. Henriquez has enjoyed an impressive start to his career with Universidad and he has reportedly been on the Red Devils' radar for the past 12 months. Sampaoli is unsure if there are any agreements in place, but he would be disappointed if Henriquez moved on without Universidad being able to enjoy the benefits of his development. "We don't agree much with the idea of a player leaving so young, but we don't know what previous agreements are there," Sampaoli told Prensafutbol.cl. "It would be painful for the club for him to leave at such a young age and not allow us to enjoy his development. "It seems we are suffering from the same problem that affects Argentina, with young players leaving more and more early." United have already agreed terms to sign Shinji Kagawa and have also been linked with the Japan international's Borussia Dortmund team-mate Robert Lewandowski.
