Talks to land Johnson hit snag

Huddersfield's bid to sign midfielder Damien Johnson has broken down.

The 33-year-old spent the last two seasons on loan with the Terriers and is now a free agent having been released by Plymouth. But negotiations over a permanent switch to the Galpharm Stadium have been unsuccessful. Chief executive Nigel Clibbens told the club's official website: "Unfortunately we could not negotiate a deal for next season that both parties saw as mutually beneficial. "We wish Damien all the best and he will always receive a warm welcome here."
