Aberdeen claim a two-year contract has been agreed to sign winger Jonny Hayes on a free transfer from Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Hayes is out of contract at Inverness and he had been offered a new deal by Terry Butcher's side after attracting interest from several clubs.
However, Dons boss Craig Brown confirmed his interest in Hayes towards the end of the SPL season and the club now say an agreement has been reached.
Dons chief executive Duncan Fraser told the club's official website: "We met with Jonny's agent Des Byrne prior to the last game of the season and both Jonny and his agent felt that this was the right move for him.
"Negotiations were carried out in an extremely professional way and I am pleased to say he has chosen Aberdeen ahead of a number of potential clubs.
"Jonny was a key target for Craig and we are delighted with the outcome."
Aberdeen are expecting Hayes to sign the contract after undergoing a medical when he returns from holiday.
However, Hayes tweeted on Wednesday morning: "No I have not signed for Aberdeen! My agent was speaking to them before I went on holiday 10 days ago, I'll know what's happening when I'm back."
