Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has revealed a pep talk from owner Roman Abramovich has convinced him to stay at Stamford Bridge.
The 28-year-old was a bit-part player for much of last season as the Blues claimed an FA Cup and UEFA Champions League double.
His frustrations boiled over in the aftermath of Chelsea's European success as he hinted he could be ready to leave the club.
However, he has since backtracked from those comments and insisted he just wants to play more games and, after a chat with the club's billionaire owner, his future looks more secure.
Confidence
Torres said: "I had a conversation with the owner of Chelsea and he trusts me.
"His confidence is total and that is what I needed to keep fighting and continue to be essential for the team."
Torres has been named in Vicente del Bosque's Spain squad for this summer's European Championship in Ukraine and Poland.
It looked like the £50million striker would miss out on the tournament when he was omitted from the squad to face Venezuela in a friendly in February.

But an injury to David Villa has presented an opening and the former Liverpool marksman is determined to repay the faith of the national team manager.
"I was left out of the squad and that was tough," he added.
"I started to understand that things were serious, that I wasn't getting much playing time with my club and that if things carried on that way, I wouldn't be going to Euro 2012.
"Vincente has put his faith in me and now I need to show him I am ready to play whenever he thinks it necessary. I hope to be able to give the team the best of me."
