Italian fails to make an impact in the Championship with Pompey

Manchester City youngster Luca Scapuzzi has returned to the club after a disappointing loan spell at Portsmouth. The 21-year-old midfielder joined the Championship strugglers on loan last month, along with City team-mate Karim Rekik. However, the Italian found playing chances limited, making just two brief appearances from the bench against Coventry and Burnley. Pompey manager Michael Appleton has confirmed Scapuzzi has returned to City after a frustrating few weeks at Fratton Park. He told the club's official website: "He's a little bit frustrated because he's not made as many appearances as he would have liked. "But we wish him all the best for the future back at Manchester City." Dutch defender Rekik remains at Pompey, having made six appearances as they battle relegation.
