Morecambe will complete the signing of defender Miguel Hamutenya in the summer, subject to the Namibian defender receiving a work permit.
Former Bolton trainee Hamutenya has agreed a two-year-deal at the Globe Arena after impressing boss Jim Bentley during a trial spell.
The 18-year-old recently missed out on moves to Scottish Premier League duo Rangers and Aberdeen and feels he has a point to prove.
"Not only am I out to prove people wrong, I am determined to pay back my agent by giving my all for Morecambe FC," Hamutenya told STV.
"I appreciate the fans accepting me. It is one big family and I feel a part of it.
"The last few months have been a rollercoaster ride, but I will pay Morecambe back for their trust and belief in me."
