Whiteley departs Magpies

Notts County have released teenager Lewis Whiteley after the six-month deal he signed in the summer expired.

The midfielder, who came through the youth ranks at Meadow Lane, did not make a first-team appearance for Martin Allen's side but did impress during a loan spell at Bishop's Stortford. The 19-year-old played 10 matches and scored one goal during his time at the Blue Square Bet North outfit. Another youth-team player, Chris Langham, who remained with County during his recovery from injury, has also been released. Both players will continue to train with the club while they search for new teams.
