Midfielder reportedly watched by Man Utd scouts against Nacional

Nicolas Gaitan insists he is not thinking about leaving Benfica in the summer amid speculation the Portuguese giants are ready to sell the Premier League target. Title rivals Manchester City and United have long been linked with a move for Gaitan, who impressed against the Red Devils in the UEFA Champions League this season. He is rated in the €30million (£25.1m) category by Benfica and the club recently hinted that the Argentine could be sold at the end of the season to raise funds. Reports in Portugal claim United had a scout watching the midfielder during Benfica's 4-1 home win over Nacional on Saturday evening.

Gaitan was asked about the rumours concerning his future after the match and the 23-year-old stressed he is happy with life at Benfica. "Manchester United were in the ground to watch me?" Gaitan told reporters. "I am content here and now I am not thinking about leaving the club in the summer. "At this moment I am happy in Benfica because I enjoy being on the pitch. When anyone leaves a club it is because it is not a happy situation and that is not the case with me. "I repeat that I am calm, although it is normal that, at the end of the season, Benfica will study my situation. It is necessary to wait."
