Freiburg have expressed their delight after completing the signing of Croatian striker Ivan Santini before the transfer deadline.
The highly-rated 22-year-old had caught the eye of the Bundesliga side with his performances for NK Zadar in his homeland.
A deal was finalised before the January window slammed shut on Tuesday, with Santini arriving on loan initially with a view to a permanent move in the summer.
Freiburg had already brought in four new players during the winter in a bid to boost their survival hopes, and general manager Dirk Dufner is thrilled with his latest addition to the squad.

"Ivan Santini is a bulky striker that holds a good speed with regard to his height," Dufner told the club's official website.
"He also has a good scoring quality. We are delighted to have been able to seal the deal and finalise our transfers with this signature."
Freiburg head coach Christian Streich added: "We have intensively scouted Ivan Santini.
"He is a very dynamic lad that will definitely be a great addition to our squad also due to his open way of communication."
