Stephen Dawson: Promises to bring non-stop energy to Tykes after signing from Orient
Stephen Dawson has promised to bring 'non-stop' energy to Barnsley after completing his move from Leyton Orient.
His move to the Championship outfit comes after the League One side reluctantly accepted an improved undisclosed offer for their skipper, who was out of contract in the summer.
The 26-year-old midfielder has now signed a two-and-half-year contract with the Tykes, who face Derby at Oakwell on Tuesday.
Looking forward to playing for his new club, Dawson told Barnsley's official website: "I'd like to bring non-stop energy to the team - up and down the pitch for 90 minutes."
The former Republic of Ireland youth international began his career at Leicester and then made more than 100 appearances for Mansfield before spending two years at Bury. He signed for Orient in 2010.
